Artist Statement
Located in New York City, William Eric works from a small studio in the Chelsea neighborhood where he has painted for the last 12 years. During that time, he studied under artist John P. Stewart, who is known for his photo-realistic style of oil painting, and is a follower of painter Odd Nerdrum. Combining these influences with his own vision, William produces works that explore the themes of innocence, beauty, and the classic form.

It is only recently that William Eric at 36 has chosen to finally pursue full time what he loves -- painting.  He is heartened by that fact that important painters such as Agnes Martin (American Contemporary Artist) started her career at about the same age.
